The Devil Saves Fallen Teenager:
HE may have been dressed like a devil, but a Swedish amusement park worker saved the life of a teenager falling from a stalled Ferris wheel.
Ben-Hur Pereira, works as a devil in the "Ghost House" at the Groena Lund amusement park in Stockholm. As he stepped out of the attraction yesterday, he saw a 16-year-old boy fall out of a gondola and hang on for his life, suspended 10m above the ground A trained acrobat, Pereira scaled the Ferris wheel, reached the teenager and pushed him back inside.
"I acted on impulse. I have the technique and had the equipment. To climb is my job and now it just happened this way," said Pereira, wearing a black body suit with flecks of red, a goatee and a silver stud in his lower lip.
"He was a devil of a hero," Robert Mesterton, Groena Lund's chief executive said today..
Mesterton said park officials weren't sure how the boy managed to slip out of the gondola, which has room enough for four people to sit, but when they saw what happened they stopped the ride.
The teenager wasn't injured, but was taken to a hospital for a check-up and released.
Mesterton said the park has had the Ferris wheel for 30 years. Wednesday's incident was the first time anyone had been in danger of falling out.
The incident is now being investigated by the park and police.

Gay Day events quiet except for feud between event founder, promoters
While the local press appears to be largely not reporting on the Gay Day events at Walt Disney World, the loudest noise appears to be coming from the feud between Doug Swallow, founder of the event and owner of gayday.com, and Tom Manley and Chris Alexander-Manley, who own gaydays.com. Manley and Alexander-Manley run their site as a for-profit business, while Swallow only makes a small profit on T-shirts and event guides. Some event sponsors have stopped advertising on gaydays.com, as the prices have risen too high. Swallow allows all event sponsors to advertise for free. Gaydays.com, which sponsors events and acts as a travel agent for the event, claims that it was the reason why the event has grown to the international behemoth that it is. Crowds this year were expected to reach 125,000–140,000, with total economic impact of over $100 million. Both sides plan to continue their efforts to promote the event.
